There are a number of community organisations which offer counselling either free of charge or at very reduced rates. Please be aware that some of these organisations have a waiting list.
Lifeline: Has a number of different centres which offer telephonic and a limited number of face to face sessions (for adults only) http://lifelinesa.co.za/centres-2/
Sophia Town Counselling Services: Can be contacted on 011 482 8530. They offer counselling services free of charge.
Family Life Centre (FAMSA): Can be contacted on (011) 788 4784. They offer counselling at a reduced rate.
Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre (JPCCC): Can be contacted on (011) 484 1734/6. They offer counselling at a reduced rate.
Most public hospitals also offer therapy and psychiatric services for very reduced rates
